Our promise: pricing you can verify
Dumpster rental is one of the least transparent markets in the home services industry. Prices vary by 40–60% across companies in the same city for the same size container, and most sites either show artificially low teaser rates or collect your information and sell it to five vendors who all quote you differently. Our goal is to give you a realistic price range — before you call anyone.
Where our data comes from
Our pricing ranges are compiled from three sources:
- Direct operator outreach. We contact local dumpster rental companies in each market and ask for real all-in pricing, including fuel surcharges, overage fees, and disposal costs that often aren't mentioned in the headline rate.
- Publicly posted pricing. Many operators post rates on their websites. We track these and note when the posted price doesn't match what customers actually pay (a common issue with weight overage fees).
- Market surveys and user feedback. When our contact form users share what they were actually quoted, that data informs our ranges over time.
How we handle pricing that changes or varies
Dumpster rental pricing is not regulated and changes with fuel costs, disposal fees, and market conditions. The ranges on our city and size pages represent typical pricing at the time of our last research sweep. We label ranges as estimates and we do not guarantee any specific rate. Final pricing is always set by the operator, and you should get a written quote before committing to any rental.
Found a price that's way off? Let us know via our contact page. We review and update pricing data regularly.
What our guides cover — and don't cover
Our guides on dumpster sizes, project types, and permit requirements are written to give you practical, actionable information for a single rental decision. They cover typical scenarios — not every exception. Local regulations, HOA rules, weight limits, and prohibited materials vary by municipality and carrier. For anything with significant cost or legal implications, verify with your local operator and municipality directly.
How we pick which operators to list
We list operators who serve real customers in specific metro areas and who have a verifiable business presence. We do not accept paid placements or charge operators a listing fee to appear on our site. Operators are included because they operate in those markets, not because they paid us.
When you submit a quote request, we connect you with one operator in your area — not multiple vendors competing for the same lead. We do not run a lead auction.
We are not contractors or waste haulers
BinQuote is a pricing research and directory site. We are not a dumpster rental company, we do not own or operate any equipment, and we are not responsible for the quality of service provided by any operator you connect with through this site. All arrangements are directly between you and the operator.
How we make money
BinQuote is free to use. We support it two ways, and we'd rather be transparent about both:
- Advertising. We display ads, which may be personalized based on your browsing. Ads are labeled as advertisements and do not influence which operators we list or how we present pricing data.
- Operator referrals. When you submit a quote request and we connect you with a local operator, we may receive a referral fee if you proceed with a rental. You are never charged for this referral, and you are never obligated to hire anyone. Our pricing data and editorial content are researched and written independently of this arrangement.
